I’ve always loved to write. I’ve learned in retirement that I can’t paint, I really don’t have a lot of remaining interest in cake decoration, or sewing, and I’m not very good at golf; but my love of writing is still alive and well. At one point in life I was an English teacher and had some opportunity to write. Later I worked with a group of friends publishing cookbooks that were full of articles that I helped write….at that time I wrote presentations and speeches that we delivered across the country to promote our books and charity. One of my articles was actually picked up and published in Huffington Post; I was so proud.
I always thought in my retirement years I would write a book and publish it, but 14 years of retirement have passed and I haven’t done it yet, so I decided to go at it in smaller, more manageable bites. I am going to start publishing some of my past and present ramblings in a webpage platform. I guess this is my gallery. It is actually very scary and humbling to put yourself out there and share your thoughts and opinions.
I also love, love, love to travel. As a retired teacher, my travel is limited to my income and my ability to budget in order to see the world. But whenever I get an opportunity, I will travel. I love to travel with my husband, with my family and with my friends. Instead of tiring of travel – the more I wander, the more the wanderlust sets in. Through my blog I hope to share some of those destinations and adventures with you.
And lastly as a Mom, Grandmother, and Busybody– I love to share my life experiences. Whether those times have been enriching, embarrassing, teachable moments or just stories; they are mine and have got me to where I am in life. There is nothing I love more than listening to people’s stories and so I have decided, on this site to share some of mine.
Welcome – enjoy what entertains you, scroll right on by what doesn’t. This is what THIS OLD BROAD KNOWS!
